Interesting but what changed? Nothing.
Karma still rules! Such transhumanism still falls into a realm of the 31 realms that the Buddha already told us about. There was no SELF from the very beginning of humanity, but there was karma. I have always believed that karma applied to individuals as well as to nations, planet Earth, and humanity.
Humanity changes, as witnessed by its history. It will change in the future. Or it can become oblivion, nonexistent. Nothing is permanent. Everything is impermanent and transient in nature. And that is "suffering," dukkha. Buddha taught us how to deal with "suffering" and reach nirvana by understanding the Law of Dependent Origination.
"AI is simply a turbo-charged calculator." AI is simply ARTIFICIAL intelligence, fake, not real, intelligence. Nirvana is the highest state of real intelligence.
